My granddad, Teddy Hodgson, was a missionary in the Belgian Congo for 40 years until he was captured and martyred in 1960 by the natives during the unrest.
Thank you for continuing the work out there. It is so encouraging to know the work is still going strong.

Very special to read all of this. I was in my preschool years in Belgian Congo from 1953-1957 along with my older brother and parents. Dad was a missionary builder and we lived at Vanga. When we returned in 1967 and were in boarding school, we were greatly blessed by the work of MAF and their wonderful pilots.
They were the ones who took us back and forth from school to mission station. Without cell phones and skype and emails they were the ones who made possible regular communication between us. To this day they remain highly loved and esteemed. They left an unforgettable impact, and it is a joy to continue to donate to this great work, and my husband and I have included them in our Will and cheerfully give to this wonderful ministry.

Love so amazing! Growing up in an Ohio church that supported United World Missions and the Thomas’s in the Congo, I remember the stories they’d share along with their children about their lives as missionaries in the Congo . Such a great legacy you are continuing to bring to those that need to hear the Good News of our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ.
